In June, 1948, a young couple, Leslie and Lourdes Fernandez, started a hospital with two beds. From these humble beginnings, it grew to 30 beds and 8 cubicles. In January, 1985, they handed over the hospital to their daughter, Dr. Evita Fernandez. In 1992, the old hospital was razed to the ground. Dr. Leslie and Dr. Lourdes jointly laid the foundation stone for the present hospital on February 12, 1993, the 75th birthday of Dr. Lourdes. This hospital, now a 130-bed, modern institution, offering the latest and the best possible expertise, technology and equipment, was inaugurated on 25thAugust, 1996.
